Back for its fourth year, the Magners International Comedy Festival kicks-off with a star-studded lineup featuring Carey Marx (UK), Singapore’s very own, Jinx Yeo and the grumpiest comedian on Netflix, Kavin Jay (MAS)! With support from up and coming talents Matt Chalmers (SCO) and humours hijabi Nuha (MLD), the Festival’s opening night will be hosted by the bow-tied wonderboy - Sam See (SIN)!

Oh and don't forget, we're serving a free flow of Magners Irish Cider from 7pm - 8pm!

A veteran of the circuit, Carey Marx concocts his own blend of dark humour with mischief and glee. His wilful disregard for the controversial and taboo is tempered with his ability to find joy in the most unexpected places. Having played all the most prestigious clubs and festivals in the world, Carey has performed in every continent and claims to have travelled more in his life than he has stood still.

An integral part of Malaysia's comedy revolution, Kavin Jay is the grumpiest comedian on Netflix! His 2018 Netflix special "Everybody Calm Down" was placed in the Top 10 Best Netflix Specials of 2018 by Indiewire, whilst Kavin has gone on to perform across the world, from Iceland to Los Angeles, from Bangkok to Brunei. With rapid-fire punchlines and witty crowdwork, Kavin's grouchiness is delivered with such panache, you can't help but laugh.

Nominated for Best Comedy at the Fringe World Awards 2018, Jinx's hard-hitting punchlines, effortless delivery, and witty material, earned him a first-runner up spot at the 2011 Hong Kong International Comedy Competition and a Finalist spot in the America Meet World Global Comedy Competition (2014)

Scotsman Matt lives a weird life. He was raised in Bahrain and plays golf professionally. In 2017 he was a finalist of the Magner’s International Comedy Competition and has since gone on to headliner the best rooms in Singapore! From Comedy Masala to countless other gigs islandwide, In January this year, Matt also had the privilege to open for Irish legend Ardal O’Hanlon!

Nuha is a humourous hijabi dedicated to spreading the gospel of halal humour.

She satisfies her addiction to laughter through stand-up and her ultimate goal is to grow up and become Phoebe ‘Banana Hammock’ Buffay.

Sam See has appeared on MTV, Comedy Central Asia and Channel 5 (Singapore’s nation-wide English broadcaster). He was recently featured on The Jim Jefferies Show in the USA, after opening for Jim on the Singapore leg of his Asian tour.
